Your local paint shop has free colour cards to take home. Computer colour matching
Most paint shops can scan a colour sample and match it very close. You need a clean flat piece no smaller than the size of a 50 cent coin.
Different paint companies can match other company’s colours. They all have each other’s paint codes, so for example if you have Dulux colour, you can go into a Solver shop and they can make it into an interior or exterior paint.
Most paint shops also have sample pots containing about 200ml costing about $7.00 covering about 3 square metres.
This is a great way to make sure you get the right colour. Make sure you wash the area and brush out the paint smooth.
